Mark Castillo
Pastor
Mark received the LORD in 1985 at Calvary Chapel West Covina (now CC Golden Springs). He attended CC West Covina Bible College and graduated from the pastoral program in 1991. About that time a new fellowship was beginning near his home, which later became Calvary Chapel Montebello. In 1992 Mark became the first staff member there. During that time he met his future wife, Nancy. They were married in 1993. They now have two children and three grandchildren.
In 1994 Mark became an ordained pastor and served faithfully as an assisting pastor until leaving in 2012. In late 2014, Mark opened up his backyard to a Friday night bible study. For the next seven years, Friday nights became an important day, not because Mark was teaching the Word of God, but the Word of God was teaching Mark. In August of 2017 Mark was honored to become a staff member for CC Golden Springs Bible College as an instructor.
An opportunity opened up to transfer the bible studies from the backyard to a church located in Rosemead for the winter months in 2020. What was thought to be a temporary location turned into a new church. Their first service was on Sunday, March 7, 2021. Calvary Chapel Renaissance was born.
